Piero Bassetti is currently President of “Svegliamoci Italici” Association, president of Globus et Locus, an association of institutions whose objective is to analyse the major aspects of glocalization, and President of the Giannino Bassetti Foundation. He is the Editor-in-chief of “Glocalism. Journal of Culture, Politics and Innovation”. Author of “Svegliamoci Italici! Manifesto per un futuro glocal” (Marsilio, 2015).
He was the first President of the Lombardy Region from 1970 to 1974. Former President of the Chamber of Commerce of Milan from 1982 to 1997, and of the Union of Italian Chambers of Commerce (Unioncamere) from 1983 to 1992. He was also President of the Association of Chambers of Commerce Abroad CCIE from 1993 to 1999. Cavaliere di Gran Croce della Repubblica Italiana.
